Zodiac Compatibility 101: A Chart of Horoscope Compatibility

Astrology is a science that has been disapproved by the scientific communities all over the world. Read this Buzzle article to know the facts about horoscope compatibility.
At times, logic fails to explain a particular phenomenon, and then one starts to seek if there is anything else that could be playing a major role in all these events that have left us baffled or amazed. Astrology can be defined as the study that establishes a relationship between the events happening in the human world and the celestial processes.

Compatibility between two people can be defined as being well-matched and like-minded, having a similar temperament or friendliness. For ages, stars and their movements have fascinated mankind to a great extent. Even though it is difficult to prove how astrology works, there are different views expressed as to how or why astrology might work.

Zodiac compatibility is based on the movement of the Sun in the twelve zodiac signs in a year according to the western system, and as per the movement of the Moon as in the Vedic system. Let us analyze the factors for compatibility in the western astrology.

The twelve zodiac signs are ARIES, TAURUS, GEMINI, CANCER, LEO, VIRGO, LIBRA, SCORPIO, SAGITTARIUS, CAPRICORN, AQUARIUS, and PISCES. Zodiac signs can be divided into masculine and feminine. The six masculine signs are Gemini, Aries, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius, whereas the six feminine signs are Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces. However, compatibility analysis at the most provides a general reading of how the zodiac signs typically interact with each other. Refer to the chart given below to know about the zodiac compatibility between you and your partner.

To find out the Vedic or horoscope compatibility, it is imperative to read the individual birth charts. To find compatibility, horoscope is the most precise way to analyze the true romantic compassion between two individuals, mainly based on movement of the Moon. Since Vedic astrology is a vast subject, it is possible to analyze the compatibility factor in detail. However, few famous concepts deserve the consideration. Broadly, it is important to know that a horoscope is made on the basis of the movement of celestial bodies and their interrelation in twelve signs and twenty-seven asterism (cluster). Each horoscope comprises twelve houses with each symbolizing some aspect of human life.

In Vedic astrology, for matching horoscopes or knowing the compatibility factor between a boy and a girl, following eight parameters are tested:
  • 1 - Varna
  • 2 - Vashya
  • 3 - Tara
  • 4 - Yoni
  • 5 - Graha-maitri
  • 6 - Gana
  • 7 - Bhakoot
  • 8 - Nadi
The suitability is considered by adding the total number of points based on the above parameters. Maximum point or gunas are 36. If total matching gunas are 27 or more, it is considered as best matching. Between 18 and 25, marriage can be advised. Below 18 points the couple is generally advised not to marry. However, that is not the final verdict as there are other higher methods like 'astakvarga' to verify the compatibility even further.

"Manglik Dosha" is considered to be a major harmful factor in one's love life. A manglik boy is advised to marry a manglik girl and vice versa, to avoid a breakup in the relationship, and in order to increase the compatibility between the partners. This dreaded planetary position arises when Mars is placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, and 12th house from the ascendant in a horoscope. However, if Mars has the aspect of Jupiter, or if it is situated in Leo or Sagittarius signs, then its malefic effect gets nullified.

Love can overcome any hurdle and perhaps that is the most important thing that plays the deciding role in the compatibility equation between two people. However, a word of advice is that there is no harm in exploring stars. An apple will fall on the ground if dropped; it fell as effortlessly before hitting Newton's head as it has after that. It will continue to fall in a similar fashion and does not require any sanction or scientific theory to do so. Similarly, lack of scientific theories does not make any unexplained phenomenon less scientific; answer is with us. One just needs to focus a little harder, barring all the inhibitions and assumptions to see what his/her stars are trying to indicate.
