What is the Zodiac?
So first & foremost, what exactly is the Zodiac? The Zodiac, in brief terms, is a branch of astrology made up of 12 unique signs that are attributed to our horoscopes. Each of these signs is a constellation in heavens, & is what the sun appears to orbit through throughout the year. These signs are all influenced by different planetary positions & the four elements, & carry with them their own unique traits, strengths, & weaknesses, which can be attributed to all those born under a specific sign.
Ultimately, depending on which sign we were born under helps to highlight who we are mentally, emotionally & physically. These can be used to show us why we act the way we do, why we struggle in certain areas of our life, & even where our path is headed. Ultimately, the Zodiac is a unique telling of what makes each of us unique & different than anyone else.

Believe it or not, you can actually pull away a lot of characteristics from each Zodiac sign just by looking at what is represented through their symbol. We’re going to show you how.
Aries – The Ram
- Fire sign
- Period: March 21st – April 19th
To start the Zodiac, we have the Aries, also known as the Ram. The Aries symbol displays a ram, symbolizing strength & power. This symbol shows us that this sign displays horns, from which we could assume their horns point to control, temper, & intellect, & shows that they are right to the point when expressing themself. We could also assume this sign rushes into things, just as a ram would charge.
Taurus – The Bull

Although they are grounded due to their element, just as what a bull is known for, these signs are stubborn & do not allow things to get in their way. If necessary, they will charge with a strength beyond words, just as the animal would when provoked, so don’t get in their way.
Gemini – The Celestial Twins

Next, the Gemini is represented as the celestial twins to show their two alternative personalities. This is because, although this sign displays one outgoing personality, & another that is also secretly insecure, which points to their two different characters.
Cancer – The Crab
- Water sign
- Period: June 21st – July 22nd
Next, Cancer is represented through the symbol of the crab. Cancer is an introvert & likes to be at home, which is expressed through the crab. This is partly due to their water element, as they are very emotional & get hurt easily. Thus, this allows them to retreat into their shell when necessary, & often, this is where they typically choose to spend most of their time.
Leo – The Lion

- Period: July 22nd – August 22nd
Moving on, Leo is represented as a strong & proud lion. This is because these signs like to roar & demand & tend to think they are always in charge. Because of this, they crave a spot as the boss, as a lion would, & won’t settle for any less than they deserve.
Virgo – The Virgin
- Earth sign
- Period: August 23rd – Septemeber 22nd
In addition to the other earth signs, the Virgo is represented as an M-shaped symbol & connects to the virgin. As an earth sign, this makes them very gentle, grounded, & compassionate. This displays their characteristics, as a virgin is very pure & innocent. Like that, they are naive & can easily get lost, confused, or hurt. However, they are continually learning & very pure of heart.
Libra – The Scales

- Period: Septemeber 23rd – October 22nd
In addition to the other air signs, the Libra is represented through the scales to show balance. Because of this, they are very well grounded in their life & tend to look at all sides to a situation before acting. However, they can also come off as selfish as they tend to put their well-being first.
Scorpio – The Scorpion

- Period: October 23rd – November 21st
Next, the Scorpio is represented through the symbol of the scorpion. This sign has a deadly sting when challenged & can carry toxic traits of jealousy & envy, which connects them to the scorpion. They are also aways on the move, as this creature is.
Sagittarius – The Archer

- Period: November 22nd – December 21st
Moving on next to another fire sign, represented through the archer arrow, is the Sagittarius. This sign is adventurous & always has their eye on the price, which links them to the arrow. Not to mention, just as a swift arrow, they are also always on the move & have a natural tendency to reach their goals quickly.
Capricorn – The Goat

- Period: December 22nd – January 19th
Next, the Capricorn is represented through the sign of the goat, sticks to tradition & routine. They, however, have a habit of butting their heads with others & are very hard-headed. Because of this, they are very firm in their values & beliefs & are not to be trifled with.
Aquarius – The Water Bearer

- January 20th – February 18th
Up next, the Aquarius is shown as a water bearer in their symbol. This shows us this sign often has a facade & that, as a water sign, they are full of depth. In other words, this makes them mysterious, unpredictable, & unlike any other.
Pisces – The Fish

And last but not least, the Pisces is represented as two fish swimming in opposite directions. This shows that they are mysterious & ever-tubulating. Because of this, they are quick & always on the move, as fish are, & seem to have two sides to their unique personality.
