Your Life Path number is the most important number in numerology — a single digit (or a master number) drawn from your birth date that describes your overall path and the themes that recur in your life. Enter your birthday below to calculate it instantly, then read what it means.
Calculate your Life Path number
(The Life Path calculator embeds here — enter your birth date; it returns your number, the reduction steps, and your meaning. Master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are preserved, not reduced.)
How it's calculated
The math is simple, and you can check the tool by hand:
- Reduce your birth month to one digit (July = 7; December = 12 → 1 + 2 = 3).
- Reduce your day (the 14th → 1 + 4 = 5).
- Reduce your year (1990 → 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 → 1 + 0 = 1).
- Add the three and reduce once more.
So July 14, 1990 → 7 + 5 + 1 = 13 → 4. The exception: if any step lands on 11, 22, or 33, you keep it — those are master numbers. For the full system and the other numbers in your chart (Destiny, Soul Urge), see our numerology guide.

FAQs
How do I calculate my Life Path number? Reduce your birth month, day, and year each to a single digit, add them, and reduce again — e.g. July 14, 1990 → 7 + 5 + 1 = 13 → 4. The calculator above does it for you.
What are master numbers? 11, 22, and 33. If any step in the calculation lands on one of these, you keep it rather than reducing further; the tradition treats them as especially intense.
Is the Life Path number the same as the Destiny number? No — the Life Path comes from your birth date; the Destiny (Expression) number comes from your full birth name. See the numerology guide.
Is numerology real? Numerology is a belief system and an interest, not a science. The calculation is real arithmetic; the meanings are traditional interpretation.
